Here at White Memorial, our public programs for children are designed to inspire understanding, appreciation, and respect for the natural world. Advanced registration is required for most programs and space is limited. Check out our upcoming programs below. Click on each flyer for a closer view.

“Sense”sational Spring Break Camp
Grades 1-3: 9:30am – 12:30pm
Grades 4-6: 1:30 – 4:30pm
Which CT animal has the best sense of hearing? Who can see better: a human or a hawk? Why do owls not mind eating smelly skunks? All of these questions about the senses will be answered and more during our “Sense”sational Spring Break Camp. Spend your vacation exploring the wild and wonderful natural world at White Memorial. Meet live animals up close, make some awesome crafts, tromp around the woods, and play fun games, all while learning about the amazing senses of our native critters. Snacks and drinks will be served between adventures. This is a kids-only event! Meet in the A.B. Ceder Room. Advanced registration is required. Non-members: $30/child per session or $110/child for the week.

27th Annual Museum Sleep-In
Kids in Grades 4-6: If you enjoy the night sky, exploring the outdoors, and meeting new friends, then join us for the 26th Annual Museum Sleep-In at White Memorial. You’ll get to sleep near the snakes, turtles, and bees in the Museum, as well as make nature crafts, scoop for pond critters, learn what creatures go bump in the night, and enjoy some yummy food. You might want to watch out for some special surprises too! It will be like a real-life “Night at the Museum!” Limited space, so don’t miss out! Parents, this is a kids-only event. Meet in the A.B. Ceder Room. The event goes from 5pm Friday night – 12 noon Saturday morning. Advanced registration required. To register, please call 860-567-0857 or visit whitememorialcc.org. Registration begins March 13 and must be received by April 21. Members: $55/child, Non-Members: $85/child


Thursdays, May 4, June 1, July 6, and August 24
Nature’s Nursery Series
Join us one Thursday per month from May-August for an hour-long program designed just for children 3-6 years old. Every session will include a story, an encounter with a live animal, and an activity or craft. Bring your young nature lovers out to White Memorial for a jam-packed hour of hands-on learning. Parents, we ask that you stay for the duration of the program. Meet in the A.B. Ceder Room. 4-5pm. Advanced registration is required. Space is limited and fills up quickly. “Wee Discoverers

For ages 4 and 5
This weekly two-hour series features stories, songs, crafts, games, and outdoor adventures that introduce young ones to the wonders of nature! Sign up by session or for all 5 sessions. July 10-28 (weekdays only)
“Nature Adventurers”
For kids entering grades 1 & 2
Join us for three weeks of all-day outdoor discovery, games, books, songs, and crafts that help them learn more about the natural world around them. Sign up by week or for all 3 weeks! 9:30am – 3:30pm each day. Meet in the Museum parking lot. Pre-registration and pre-payment are required. Please call 860-567-0857 or visit whitememorialcc.org. “Natural History Explorers”
Join us for all-day discovery programs both on and off White Memorial property. Immerse yourselves in nature! Activities include collecting rocks and minerals, investigating aquatic life, exploring different ecosystems, learning to identify wildlife, climbing mountains, hiking trails, and so much more. 9:30am – 3:30pm each day.
